The Company was founded in 1837 by Charles Eldridge and the Dorchester Brewery opened in 1880. First registered in 1887 this beautiful brewery continued its sublime existence until the disasters of the late 1990 when the sale of the tied estate, a management buyout and merger with the Burtonwood Brewery led to eventual closure in 2003.
