I expect quite a few of you have been waiting for me to add this magnificent label to the site. As far I know this was the only label to feature a view of the brewery. A pity, Fordham’s could have produced a complete portfolio and think what a complete set of Oatmeal Stout, Light Dinner Ale, Old Ashwell Ale, Special Brown Ale and Strong Ale would look like across two pages of an album with the 1937 Coronation label to complete. I believe this is an accurate representation of the brewery and is very similar to a later line drawing in the book Snippets of Ashwell’s History by David Short.
