Founded in 1874 by Henry Reffell. The above company was registered in December 1898, to acquire Reffell Brothers & the London properties of Showell’s Brewery Co. Ltd. In 1956 Courage & Barclay Ltd acquired the business, together with 19 tied houses. Brewing ceased in the following year, and the majority of the buildings survive as an industrial estate.
