The Hyde Brewery, Winchester was in operation under the control of James Simonds from the early 19th Century. Later it was owned by Richard Moss, but continued trading as Simonds and Co. until registered in 1893 as the Winchester Brewery Co., which was, in turn, acquired by Marston, Thompson & Evershed in 1923 and used for bottling.
