Ind Coope & Allsopp Ltd purchased Houldings Brewery Co Ltd of Everton in 1938. Ind Coope & Allsopp are still listed as brewing there in 1949. The No. 5 Mild Ale was probably brewed and bottled at all four breweries in the 1940s. I suspect this would be preferable to bringing the beer up from Burton to be bottled in Liverpool.
